As well as the Buzz youth arts festival there are lots of other things to do this summer. Check out the new Plings website, put in your postcode and find out what there is to do near you!
We have been lucky enough to receive £14425 funding from Arts Council England, therefore the Buzz 2010 festival will go ahead. Workshops in drama, dance, drumming, singing, manga, animation, film, photography, arts and crafts and much much more will take place from Monday 26 July through to Saturday 14 August with showcases in the final week at the Plowright theatre.
From 25th April Duck Egg Theatre will be opening a new theatre class in Scunthorpe at the Baptist Church Hall where students can work towards their Arts Award and Trent Valley grades. One class will be for 7-11 year olds and the other for 12-18 year olds. Call Haley Cox on 07723 371833 for more details.
Come along to 20 21 Visual Arts Centre this Saturday Feb 20th 10-5pm for a FREE workshop on filmmaking, photography and animation. We want to get young people aged 8 and over involved in this exciting project. Call 01724 297070 for more details.

South Bank Youth Dance Hub
Calling all young dancers aged 10-19!
Come and show off your skills in the biggest youth dance showcase event our region has ever seen!
The South Bank Youth Dance Showcase event will be held at the Grimsby Auditorium on Wednesday 3rd March 2010 7pm.
The event is designed to encourage young people from North and North East Lincolnshire to showcase and celebrate their dance skills and will showcase Urban (street, break, hip hop) Classical, Traditional (Modern, Stage) and specialised (Irish, salsa) dance forms
The hub is looking for schools, dance schools, community dance groups from our region to come forward and participate.

The shortlisted filmmakers for the Scunthorpe Young People’s Film Festival have now been contacted. They have been invited to attend a gala awards evening at the Plowright Theatre on 1 October at 6.30pm. The winners and runners up will be announced on that evening.
Those films not shortlisted will receive a screening at the Base Youth Arts Centre on Wednesday 30 September at 7pm.
